I Want To Drive Safely : Annoying Sounds
Since the first day I got my driving license, I have been kept on telling myself, that I am going to be a good driver on the road. To drive safely, obeying the law, and tolerance with other drivers. But, sometimes, you couldn't avoid distractions. You'll be provoked by irrresponsible drivers that will lead you to be aggresive on road as well.
One of the distraction that really triggers my nerve is the ''honking sounds'' from radio's advertisement. I do really enjoy listening to music while driving, but keep changing the CD while is very distracting and dangerous. So, I opt for radio which is very entertaining, but not some of their advertisement.
It is not the commercial community service announcement from the government or any brands, but from the radio station itself! There's this one station, they are promoting their community service or public reminder, sort of advert, but to me, with that annoying honking sound, it is totally distracting!!! the honking sound that is triple dB from the person that is telling the listeners to drive safely, and being nice to the community, they are totally doing the opposite!!!
That honking sound always gave me a shock and I will always thought there's a car behind me honking. The car honk function is to alert drivers, but if its came from the radio, without control and keep on repeating without control, it is actually annoying and confusing.
I think, the radio station need to think about this and be more sensitive to the listeners. What if, the listener with weak heart condition listens to the advert and reflectively, without their awareness, they might react in a dangerous manner. They might subconciously, turn the car around or suddenly stopping the car, and an accident may occur because the driver was shocked by an unneccesary sounds from the radio. The message that they are airing about on air, supposedly, to help the listeners to be more considerate and careful on the road, has become the opposite of it.
